Holiday beauty bliss

A great holiday can revitalise your body, soul and mind, but this experience might not be so rejuvenating for your skin and hair.

The sun, water, late night celebrations and travel can take their toll on your skin and hair, but you can adapt certain pre-emptive strategies and restorative techniques to feel and stay beautiful during and after your holidays. To gear up to the fun-filled time that will be spent at the beach, resorts or with family, the prep starts weeks in advance. Consider following tips before you cry SOS.

It is the time to feel special and put your best face forward with your perfectly preened self.

  1. Hydrate, hydrate and hydrate!

The most common complaint during holidays is about dry skin due to weather, sun-rays, water damage and lifestyle changes. The skin becomes dry and flaky, and there is not much you can do about it. Start your hydration and moisturising routine weeks in advance of your holiday. Drinking plenty of water, using a suitable cleanser according to your skin type, moisturising your skin with suitable lotions and creams, and having a facial before your holiday can save your skin from long-term damage. A good facial will stimulate circulation, revive natural glow, soothe and hydrate tired skin, preparing it for a tranquil holiday.

  1. Hand and feet care

Your hands and feet are the hardest working parts of your body, and holidays bring out a whole new set of problems with them. In your holiday beauty prep, pamper your hands and feet with a long lasting manicure and pedicure. Regular exfoliation of your hands and feet will make your weekly pampering routine easier and always ensuring you put your best hand and foot forward, leaving you feel loved and cared for.

  1. Body Treatments

Before heading off to your dream holiday this season, treat your body with an exfoliating and hydrating all-body treatment. This will leave your skin silky smooth with a natural glow. While you can choose from an array of professional spa treatments available, a home body spa treatment is also a great way to give your body great pampering in the privacy and comfort of your own home.

Also consider hair removal with wax, if you haven’t considered it before. Ditch the razor or messy hair removing creams as they can cause rashes and infections while you are out and about. The safest time to do wax is 3 to 5 days before your holiday starts.

  1. De-stress your hair

Your hair needs pampering like your body, to complete your holiday look. Give your hair a deep moisturising treatment and consider a trim. Use a deep conditioning mask and if you want apply a new colour, do it few days before your holiday starts, as colouring with the harsh sunrays can dry out your hair.

Do everything that makes you feel good as that’s what you deserve on your holiday. Avoid letting the beauty blues ruin your holidays. Pack up for your vacation beauty whether you are going for long vacations or a quick holiday getaway. Include Pack essential beauty supplies like moisturizing sunscreen, make up removal products, cleanser and other daily skincare routine products to ensure you look your best beautiful self, from take-off to touch down.
