What can you do to treat Acne Breakouts

The first step is prevention. Keep your skin clean and clear by:

  • washing your face daily with a mild cleanser
  • limiting the amount of makeup you wear
  • using oil-free makeup products that don’t block your pores.

For treatment, look for products which are specifically designed to remove the particular spots that you have.

Look for creams, lotions or gels that contain salicylic acid, like Neutrogena’s Oil-Free Acne Wash Facial Cleanser. This is a medication that helps normalize the shedding of the skin cells and so prevent clogging the pores.

Salicylic acid is a proven method for treating acne and helping prevent future breakouts when used regularly. But be patient. You may find that it takes several weeks to see results.

Whatever you do, try not to squeeze out your spots. It could simply make matters worse!
